The former professional footballer and now doping hunter and sports traumatologist Georg Trotter (Tobias Moretti) is to take over the management of a high-performance sports clinic in the Alps. It sounds almost too good to be true. Soon Georg uncovers dark secrets that reach into the future as well as his past.

Georg Trotter used to be a football player who always played by the rules. But as a pro, he never got very far. Instead, he studied medicine and now works as a trauma surgeon and sports traumatologist at a Liverpool hospital. Everything is about to change when one day, his old friend Andreas Müller offers him the position of Director at a newly-built medical facility specializing in performance enhancement. Within the clinic’s walls, talented young players are supposed to be molded into the world’s best footballers – by legal means. But Georg soon becomes doubtful. Are the young players merely test material whose genetic makeup is being altered without their knowledge? Georg Trotter discovers terrible secrets, which lead him into the future and equally far back into his past.
