Chico Para Sempre
This Portuguese-language documentary looks back on the life of Brazilian medium Chico Xavier as understood in the 20 years since his death. Using unpublished accounts from artists, doctors, scientists, literary critics, historians, mediums and Xavier’s closest friends, the film provides a chronological overview of his life, but also the watershed themes of his life: becoming a medium at 17, difficulty with fame, media controversy, struggles with finding balance between “two worlds”, and a massive literary contribution of 536 titles published. Additionally, we also look into the controversies of Chico’s early years and his television appearances, including on the highly-rated Pinga Fogo show.
