Eleven-year-old Remco is a great football talent and would like to advance to the top. That does not go without bumps, because Remco has to deal with the death of his father, difficult selection competitions, a serious ankle injury, a dull accountant who is in love with his mother and his first kiss.

In Oranje is inspired by the lives of Marco van Basten who suffered from a weak ankle at a young age and Johan Cruijff whose father died early. The main character is eleven-year-old Remco who dreams of playing in the youth team of Orange. There is no shortage of talent, nor is his fanatic coach, supporter and father Erik who always knows everything better and screams his son from the sidelines for the top. When Erik suddenly dies, it is no longer fun for Remco. He quits football. Until his father returns from the dead and they pick up their goal together again. That is not without bumps, because Remco has to deal with difficult selection competitions, a serious ankle injury, a dull accountant who is in love with his mother and his first kiss.
