At a charity auction, reporter Lee wins a bid on a painting just to meet its imprisoned painter Shen, who was once a powerful and notorious gang hitman and main suspect in the brutal murders of the Yeh family.
On the day of their interview, Shen boasts about his past as an hitman for an all-powerful gang boss and the many underworld hits he executed but avoids discussing the Yeh family massacre. Although inconclusive, Shen was pinned for the massacre, with greed believed to be his motive. Shen denies his involvement in the Yeh family massacre. Lee continues to press for more when Shen realizes Lee is the sole survivor of the massacre.
