Kim Ja-hong is a dutiful firefighter. When he dies in the line of duty, his is escorted to the afterlife by the grim reapers, Gang-rim, Haewonmak and Deok-choon to face seven trials on charge of seven different sins, murder, indolence, deceit, injustice, betrayal, violence and filial impiety in 7 courts over 49 days. Only then can he get to see his senile mother again before his reincarnation.

Kim Ja-hong is an upright and dutiful firefighter. When he dies in the line of duty, his is escorted to the afterlife by the grim reapers, the Leader Gang-rim, the guardian Haewonmak and the assistant Lee Deok-choon.
Over 49 days, Kim Ja-hong will have to go through the seven trials on charge of seven different sins, each in a different court. Only the diseased who is no convicted any of the seven trials can get to appear in a dream of their family in the living world before their reincarnation.
Kim Ja-hong is determined to see his senile mother once again, so he appears on the seven afterlife court of murder, indolence, deceit, injustice, betrayal, violence and filial impiety, and comes to face final judgement of Yeomra.
