In the ancient times, a catastrophe hits the universe. The Yimo demons are breaking through the boundary of space and time and invading the world of the Esoteric Realm. A young boy in Qingyang Town, Lin Dong, has met with a miserable fate as his parents are killed by the Yimo demons and his only sister is beguiled to leave him by Lin Langtian, a talented youth possessed by the Yimo.

To avenge his parents and save his sister, Lin Dong tenaciously goes on an adventure to vanquish the demons. As he grows and develops his skills on his journey, the kind-hearted youth righteously saves two demons, Xiao Diao and Xiao Yan, and help them transform into human form. They become his most trustworthy partners. Lin Dong also befriends the successors to preeminent sects Ling Qingzhu and Ying Huanhuan. With their trust and help, Lin Dong searches for the eight ancestral emblems that can subjugate the Yimo demons.

As Lin Dong and his partners bravely overcome numerous obstacles and extricate conspiracies through their adventurous journey, they come to value courage and perseverance, and cherish love and trust even more. They also get to witness a myriad of miracles of the vast universe. Lin Dong subsequently goes through demon-conquering adventures such as venturing into the Great Desolate Region, fighting the Dragon Ape, looking for the treasure of the stone stele, descending into caves. Eventually, Lin Dong obliterates the Yimo demons, protecting the people and restoring the peace of world.
