Kim Tan runs away to the US to escape his shame of being a child of his father's mistress. Eun-sang, who grew up struggling with a mute mother, travels to the US to visit her sister. The two of them meet and gradually fall for each other. But she discovers Tan has a fiancee and returns to South Korea. The two meet again as their lives begin to move.

Kim Tan, the handsome son of the distinguished Jeguk Family, spends his empty days studying abroad in the US to escape his shame of being a child of his father's mistress. Meanwhile, Eun-sang, who has a mute mother, travels to the US to visit her sister. What is waiting for her is a reality full of lies. Tan and Eun-sang meet and fall in love; however, Eun-sang learns that Tan has a fiancée named Rachel and returns to South Korea. Then Tan decides to go back home for the first time in three years. The school where he returns to is part of the Jeguk Conglomerate. There are four major classes: “the heirs” of the third generation, who will inherit the company; “shareholders,” who own several stocks since the moment they were born but don’t have any estate right; “honorary heirs,” who are lawyers, doctors, scholars and politicians of the second and third generations valuing honor over money; “socially concerned” group, who are not suitable for a prestigious school but were forced to enroll because of public evaluation. Tan and Eun-sang are reunited by fate, as their lives begin to move.
