Four families gather for a dream luxury holiday, but a dark secret triggers fears of betrayal and ends in murder. It was supposed to be the perfect holiday, with a big birthday celebration and a long-awaited reunion in the sunshine. Kate, Jenny, Rowan, and Izzy – four women who have been best friends since college – are making the most of a luxurious villa in Malta, with their husbands and children in tow. Kate, happily taking in the beautiful atmosphere, hears a text come in on her husband Sean’s phone. Her world falls apart when she sees the content of the text. A text from a mysterious 'CoralGirl.' Who is CoralGirl? Kate is shell-shocked. Sean is not only having an affair, but it is with one of her friends. Feeling like she can not trust anyone, Kate becomes more isolated. One of her friends is trying to steal her husband, and they are willing to sacrifice years of friendship to destroy her family – but which one...and why? While trying to unravel the truth, she begins unravelling herself. Sean's affair is not her only problem. Teenage daughter Lucy is not at all herself, and it seems that she too has a secret that she does not want to share with the grown-ups. Kate is too distracted to help her, and right now, she cannot confide her fears to Sean. It puts Kate's youngest in danger. Will she survive the mistakes of the adults and older kids? On her journey of discovery, examining each member of the group in turn, some uncomfortable truths about them all are revealed. Just as Kate closes in on the culprit in the stifling Malta heat, she realizes too late that the stakes are far higher than she ever imagined because someone in the villa is prepared to kill to keep their secret hidden.
