In this Argentine drama set to a western backdrop, Carlota (Mercedes Morán), a renowned paleontologist who is excavating a small digsite in the mountains, has been guarding a secret for years: the fossils of a hippogriff, a mythological creature that is half bird and half lion, but whose existence has never been confirmed. As Carlota protects the fossils with every ounce of her being, she soon finds herself dealing with Constanza (Natalia Oreiro), a young paleontologist sent to oversee Carlota’s work. It isn’t long before the two women are at odds, as Constanza casts doubt about the find and the transparency of her investigation. But the arrival of Freddy (Diego Velázquez), a greedy rival of Carlota’s, forces the women to join forces in order to prevent Freddy from seizing Carlota’s find. Now, Carlota and Constanza must confront a new, and yet all-too familiar battle — Freddy’s unscrupulous ways demonstrate that protecting the hippogriff goes hand-in-hand with protecting the passion for knowledge and investigating the unknown.
