Wei Keat and Sze Xin decide to get married and what follows the happy decision is a series of problems involving both families, stemming from the disparity in perceived wealth and countless cultural differences. To show his sincerity to his future in-laws, Wei Keat agrees to an extravagant wedding banquet. However, one mishap leads to another on the big day.

Wei Keat comes from a humble Hokkien Malaysian family and works in Singapore as an engineer. His bride, Sze Xin, comes from a wealthy Cantonese Singaporean family. To show his sincerity and commitment to his future in-laws, Wei Keat agrees to hold an extravagant and lavish wedding banquet in Singapore.
On the wedding day, Wei Keat discovers that most of the red packets he has planned to use to foot the bill went missing. Out of desperation, he heads to the nearby casino, only to end up losing more money. As he makes up one lie after another, Sze Xin starts to suspect his fidelity and honesty. On top of that, his father Wei meets with a car accident on his way back from Singapore. Could it be that the happiest day in Wei Keat’s life is slowly unfolding into the most depressing day?
