GOODBYE, FAREWELL AND AMEN is the final episode of the long-running and acclaimed series M*A*S*H, about doctors in a mobile M*A*S*H medical unit during the Korean War. The war is nearly over, though the 4077th is still overwhelmed with casualties. Hawkeye has been sent to a psychiatric hospital under the care of Dr. Sidney Freedman, who probes him for the cause of his very public mental breakdown. The other members of the company make plans for their lives after the war, while operating on the wounded. Hawkeye returns to camp, and at last, ceasefire is declared. The 4077th erupts into a party. One by one everyone leaves, with the exception of the most unlikeliest of people to stay in Korea: Klinger, who has married a Korean woman. The camp now nearly deserted, Hawkeye lifts away in a chopper, gazing down on a message left for him by his old friend B.J. who had been too afraid to tell him farewell: a giant "Goodbye" written in stones.
