Justice, My Foot is Director Johnnie To’s remake of a courtroom comedy set in Imperial China. A shyster named Sung Sai Kit is very good at twisting the facts and winning cases for his clients. This has caused him to be cursed and his sons have never got to live over a year. His wife, an equally eccentric kungfu master, gets him to seek justice for a widow named Yeung Sau Chan. Sung Sai Kit eventually emerges victorious in his case against Magistrate Ho Yue Ta and Commissioner Tin in the court resided by Inspector General. This breaks his curse and blesses him with many children. Stephen Chow vividly plays Sung Sai Kit, catapulting the film to break the box office record of Hong Kong at that time and winning him the Best Actor Award at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival.
