In the city of Chang'an, an orphan named Jiang Liu'er lives with the monk Fa Ming. One day, demons attack and Jiang Liu'er saves a little girl. While escaping, he inadvertently releases the seal that holds Sun Wukong. The Demon King realizes that Wukong has lost his powers and easily captures the girl. Wukong is unwilling to go save the girl again, so Jiang Liu'er decides to do it himself.
