After his aunt Teda’s death, the taking care of the household rests on Henk Cassens’ shoulders. But soon after the undertaker Cornelia Mohn is found dead at the bottom of her stairs. Henk’s colleague, Süher Özlügül, wants to find out more about Cornelia’s death, but Inspector Brockhorst think her death was all down to an accident. Marion, the daughter of the deceased, says that she only had one enemy: Wolfgang Habedank, her biggest competitor. And the hobby forensic scientist, Insa Scherzinger, soon finds evidence that points in the direction of foul play. There are too many questions left unanswered, so Süher and Henk cannot leave it at that. Cornelia apparently had a much younger lover, but he has vanished without a trace. And what is bothering Marion Mohn’s friend Patrick Diekmann? What information is general practitioner Dr. Silke Freymuth withholding? and why did she prescribe psychotropic drugs to Cornelia Mohn without asking many questions? And what did the mysterious young man, Edgar Raabe, want from her?
